Your mind is the best safety tool to heighten your awareness to shield yourself from imminent danger or the threats of danger that you reasonably believe in.
Just being aware of environment is not going to stop a situation, but it will give you an advantage and edge over people who are NOT aware.
Use and apply the 360° mindset. Because our world is not linear!
Learn the color codes of situational awareness that may save your life.

Knowing what to do, learn your zone, evacuation routes, shelter for your family, friends, children, ... and including your pets!!!
Our goal is to promote disaster risk reduction, build safe and resilient communities, including coastal, homes, and businesses.

Nicky Dare, a certified CERT / FEMA member (CERT = Community Emergency Response Training), discusses Disaster Preparedness. Roles and Responsibilities for Community Preparedness, Personal and Workplace Preparedness, Impact on the infrastructure.
Having the skills to evaluate the situation quickly and to take effective action to protect yourself and others.
Reducing hazards is an important part of personal preparedness.
Do you have family disaster plan and simulate the drills? Do you have emergency supplies at home, workplace?
According to recent survey:
40% did not have household plans. 80% had not conducted home evacuation drills. And nearly 60% did not know their community’s evacuation rules.
So how "prepared" are we? 
Stay vigilant, increase your situational awareness of your surrounding. Stay safe.
